The labyrinth is an ancient design. It consists of a path that winds through a center and back out again.The aim is to quiet the mind and provide a peaceful path of prayer, therefore it has no dead ends or wrong turns.
There are three parts to the journey. Begin by calming your mind and inviting the Spirit to walk with you. As you walk along you will pass through every circle until you reach the center. The center is a good place to pray and listen to what God is saying to you today. The third part of the journey covers the same path in reverse. As you walk back out, you re-enter your life renewed and refreshed.
We hope that people in Woodbury will feel welcome to use the labyrinth for prayer and meditation. We want to plan events around labyrinth walks and develop plans to enhance the outdoor worship space with a memorial garden. The labyrinth is the forth Eagle Scout project to be completed at Christ Church. Our parish is blessed to have the talents of these young men.
