Come join us for Loaves and Fishes!

Loaves and Fishes is a program designed to feed needy people in the Twin Cities area. Christ Church has served at the St. Matthew's Catholic Church site on Saint Paul's west side for more than five years. We serve on the fourth Wednesday of each month, and typically serve between 130 and 175 meals.

We welcome new volunteers to this exciting ministry! We purchase the food, cook, serve and clean-up. Your duties might include preparing and serving food, pouring milk and coffee, assisting children with trays, wiping up spills and cleaning tables. We love for you to eat and visit with the guests. Dress casually - this is hands-on service! Bring family, friends, neighbors and co-workers if interested! Choose these options:

1. Preparation: 2:30-4 p.m. - make our dinner of fish, au gratin potatoes, salad, buttered bread and cookies, using food delivered to the site. You would be working with volunteers who have done this for four years and can help you learn the ropes, as well!

2. Serving/Cleanup: 4:30-6:30 p.m. - feed an average of 150 people in one hour, and clean up the dining room and kitchen afterward. You'll work with a team of about 12 people.
